When Prayers Go Quiet

In church, we often hear the testimonies; the breakthroughs, the healings, the financial miracles, the open doors. And we celebrate them, as we should. Four years ago, I was one of those voices, overflowing with stories of blessing after blessing. It felt so good to share how God had answered my prayers. I couldn’t stop talking about His goodness.

But then something shifted. My prayers seemed to echo back in silence. Survival became a daily struggle. I felt overlooked, even forgotten.

And yet, does silence mean God has disappeared? Or could it be that He is setting us up for something greater than we can see?

Even in the middle of disappointment, I refuse to believe that our miracle-working God has somehow got it wrong. In that space, I began to think about the faithful ones the people who have been trusting God for years, still holding on with unwavering faith.

Those are the real heroes of the faith. Not just the ones who can say, “Look what God gave me,” but the ones who keep praying when nothing changes.

They are the ones who cry through the night and wake to the same reality. Who fast, weep, and hope and still carry their unanswered prayers into yet another day. Their testimonies may not fit neatly on a church stage, but their faith runs deep.

Sometimes, the truest worship isn’t the shout of victory, but the whisper of surrender. It’s lifting your hands, not because the prayer was answered, but because God is still worthy.

So if that’s you carrying heavy prayers, unseen prayers, prayers that feel forgotten hear this: your faith is not wasted. Daddy God sees it. Our Heavenly Father treasures it and He calls it beautiful.

The mountaintop testimonies inspire us, yes. But it’s the steady faith in the valley that shapes us. And in the silence, God is closer than you think.
