Daughters of Zelophehad Launch - 23 March 2024.

Last week, I went back home to attend the funeral of my aunt. Growing up with her had always been a challenge. I fought with her the most. I never heeded her advice. I had always seen her as being against me than for me. I never expected her passing to have such an impact on me. Over

the last few days, I spent time a lot of time reflecting on who she was as a person and what she meant to me.

Growing up, I remembered how dignified she carried herself. Her job involved her to work long hours standing on her feet. She never complained and always went about her work with excellence. She also had to tend to her aged parents at home. I was touched reading the comments written by her collegues when they heard of her passing.

It was not hard to believe. She was diligent and always put other people's needs around her first. She took time to cook our favourite dishes and was the first to initiate family gatherings. I spent the last couple years with her, and I am grateful for all the good times we had.

My biggest regret was not taking the time to understand her love for me. She was never good with words, but if I had only taken time to look at the signs that were always there. You only tend to appreciate a person when they are no longer around.

In honor of her memory, her sacrifice, and whatever she stood for, I would like to launch my podcast Daughters of Zelophehad, on the 23 March 2024. I will share more about the podcast in the coming weeks.
